Casino Table Game Review

Despite the high house edge, American roulette is one of the most sought-after games at land based and online casinos. This game, based on luck alone, draws millions of people who are attracted to the simplicity, fast pace & excitement that is the casino table game America roulette.

American Roulette

American roulette is a direct spin off from the classic European roulette that originated on the Continent. The first person to invent the roulette wheel was a French mathematician named Blaise Pascale. The idea of the wheel was soon adopted as a popular gambling pastime in European casinos, especially Monte Carlo. The game of roulette reached US shores and, to bring the house edge up, American casino owners added an extra zero on the roulette wheel. Thus, American roulette was born, with the extra slot being the key element that differentiates between the two types of roulette games.

An American roulette wheel consists of 38 slots (numbers one through to 36, 0 and 00). Players place their bets on the custom roulette table, the croupier spins the wheel and then throws the ball into this rotation. When the roulette wheel stops spinning, the croupier announces where the ball has landed and all winnings are paid out accordingly.

With an extra slot that does not form a part of the odds/evens or black/red combination, this game has a much higher edge in favour of the house that does the traditional European Roulette game.
